民国期间，金玉楼老板金玉兰凭借男子歌舞生意在上海滩立足。某一天晚上，她在门口捡到了被人打得奄奄一息的小乞丐，此人正是她两年前的旧情人、上海滩少帅陆慕白。两人在追求真相和爱情的过程中，身份不断反转，阴谋不断浮现，真相浮出水面。An anthology series in which each episode is a self-contained story set in a different world, with all stories linked together by an asteroid called the Metal Hurlant, which is passing close to the planet that is the focus of the current episode.。影片主要以费里尼后期电影，如《我记得，想当年》、《卡萨诺瓦》、《月吟》等为切入点，结合片长实录、访谈、费里尼本人自述。。
