Between each, the quiet cleaning lady, Jolanta, arrives to clean away the debris, while her own silent love story unfolds.。本片记录了三个追求精益求精的故事。一位日本生物学家经过数年研究，终于发现明纽扣水母拥有的逆生长本领；一对瑞士夫妇用废钢材最终制成发出动人旋律的神秘乐器；一些意大利雕塑师反复雕琢终于完成他们的雕塑作品。。物語は「監察医朝顔」のラストの翌年春から幕を開け、朝顔が母の遺体を探しに1人で東北を訪れたことによって新たな物語が紡がれていく。彼女が東日本大震災と母の死に深く向き合うさまや、前作では描けなかった東日本大震災以外の大規模災害にも相対する姿が切り取られる。。
