In upstate New York, two teenage boys are tasked with cleaning out their father's old mobile home on an abandoned property, but the boys are in for a surprise when they discover three crooks on the run have taken refuge in the trailer.。本片讲述的是一个挣扎在底层的龙套演员，却怀揣着一个大导演的梦想，用尽全力去经历现实中那些悲喜交加的故事。钱程不甘于自己底层群演经常忍饥，挨打的生存现状，在同行雨晴和张驰的鼓励下，决定自己写剧本当导演，去实现自己的电影梦。没有任何经验的钱程经历了很多令人啼笑皆非的事，在挫折和困难面前，钱程一直没有放弃，用但行好事，莫问前程的处事态度改变自己，机缘巧合下，最终实现了自己的人生价值。。
