《夏日往事》借情欲的符号谱写青涩的少年时代。2000年的安徽小镇上，14岁的两个少年邂逅了一位小镇姑娘。两个少年决定去碟店租碟以邀请在家看电影为名偷放“⽟女心经”······⻘春在炎炎夏⽇的汗水中燃烧流淌，也随着其中一个少年的离别而渐渐消逝。游戏女主播郑楠楠为了赚取直播赏金，进入到游戏世界。在完成观众下达的一系列任务过程中与游戏中的皇帝产生感情，然而观众们最终下达的指令是要郑楠楠弑杀皇帝。郑楠楠未按照指令执行任务，而是按照自我意愿，结束了游戏回到现实。游戏中皇帝记忆清零，却似乎总觉得自己在等什么人。最终，郑楠楠返回游戏，与皇帝再次相遇。。A man and his son discover a jewelry box in a trash bin.
