剧组的道具枪射出了真子弹，女演员叶蕙（林芳兵饰）命丧摄影棚。刑警詹德昌（杨宝河饰）、李志勇（赵建文饰）对涉枪人员展开调查。通过了解发现，叶蕙与他人存在三角恋爱关系。曾和叶谈过恋爱的沙晓舟（马晓伟饰）差点被人毒死，在病房中，他向詹德昌道出原委：在香港的父亲沙丘仁（崔超明饰）自知不久于人世，曾来信让他继承遗产，他心存矛盾。正与其热恋的叶蕙则怂恿他一定别错过机会，并背着他邀未来的公公和大哥沙之星（洪宇宙饰）回内地见面。意外的见面使爱慕虚荣的叶蕙投向沙之星的怀抱。詹德昌并没有轻信沙晓舟的一面之词，他把怀疑的目光投向了道具员张小勃（朱晓鸣饰）......。A pilots pregnant wife is killed by a band of thugs who break into their home.
