1929年，年少时的佐藤先生应邀父亲之命，来到中国南京向师傅求学围棋精髓，结识了师傅之女吴花子，两人以棋热恋百年好合，不料几年后中日战争爆发，1937年12月佐藤随军大举进攻中国首都，见证南京城内史无前例的疯狂屠杀，在当年师傅的四合院中，佐藤正准备解开一盘围棋的残局，手下抓来了一个女人。作为青年导演冉吟啸的第二部作品，《愿江海一直向上流》以重庆为背景，讲述三个没有血缘关系的人之间别样的亲情故事。影片时间跨度长达近一个世纪，记录了两代人，两个家庭的生活轨迹。。A farmer and his family must fight for survival after a ferocious pack of wild dogs infiltrates their isolated farmhouse. Through a series of frightening and bloody encounters they are forced into survival mode to make it through the night.。
