长生者赫连云锦陷入千年混沌，以乞丐之姿流落街头，赫连家族现任家主赫连撤暗中执行“千年千人扶持计划”，凡对云锦施舍者皆获家族资助。某夜，京华顾家少主顾沉舟于垃圾站救下遭乞丐欺凌的云锦，不顾手下劝阻将其带回顾家，一句“我养你”开启五年守护。。这是一个阿鼠与阿狼的冒险故事，阿鼠是任务执行人，而阿狼则是“任务协会”的中介，专门为阿鼠寻找任务。在二人不停的完成各种艰难的任务的同时，阿鼠透露出对某种不可名状事物的向往——“星辰大海”；而阿狼，也在各种任务中寻找家族消失的线索。二人从任务中得知在除了现在这个世界，还有一个“上面的世界”，且各种迹象表明，阿鼠的向往，和阿狼寻找的线索，都直指“上面的世界”，甚至“更上面的世界”。。A boy is haunted by terrifying nightmares where a monster lurks inside the closet. To his relief, his father appears in the middle of the night helping him to face his fears. But the boy will begin to question the true nature of these apparitions, having to face the truth about his father's destiny and the evil force that threatens to consume him.。
