方正文是一个化学工程师，妻子余素是摄影记者，在采访中认识了印尼归国华侨李纯恩，于是两个人产生了爱情，最后余素决定离婚跟李纯恩走，但是在此之前他们连手都没有拉过，于是方正文和余素的儿子方刚就一直跟方正文一起生活，而方正文因为深爱着余素也就一直没有再婚。后来文革爆发，余素被逼跳楼自杀，方正文和李纯恩也被隔离审查。后来方刚长大了娶了姬小玉为妻子，本来两个人很恩爱，但是有一次姬小玉为了给方刚摘野葡萄不幸坠入山崖丧生，后来方刚又认识了一个叫李完的女人，李完比方刚大十岁，方正文就不能理解儿子的这种感情，因为方正文一直在心底深爱着余素。后来方刚和李完结婚了才知道李完就是李纯恩的亲妹妹！于是方正文同李纯恩也有了正式的接触和交谈……。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have.
