"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。一场突如其来的绑架，牵连着多个人的命运，是掌局者？还是棋子？人生之中，每个人无论如何挣扎，都不可避免跌入人生中的陷阱，甚至是自己亲手挖下的陷阱。。
