故事开始于八百年前，柯天仁（杨庆煌 饰）虽然拥有一颗善良的内心，却因为其丑陋的外貌而饱受周遭人的欺侮。只有千金小姐白玉莲（况明洁 饰）不嫌弃柯天仁的外貌，不仅如此，她还三番五次的帮助柯天仁渡过难关。随着时间的推移，两人之间产生了真挚的感情，然而，这段感情注定不会有结果，在家人的强烈反对和棒打鸳鸯之下，柯天仁和白玉莲忍痛分手，并相约来世再续前缘。 就这样一晃数百年过去，柯天仁投胎转世成为了玉琳和尚，而白玉莲则化身成为顺亲王府的珍格格。一场意外的邂逅让珍格格想起了两人前世未尽的姻缘，可是玉琳和尚早就把身心全部奉献给了佛祖。。Documentary which take as subject the Oberhausen Group and New German Cinema, and some of those who followed in their footsteps.
