该片以视听障碍人支援法《海伦凯勒法》为素材。《海伦凯勒法》是指国家人权委员会2008年1月针对视听障碍残疾儿童不能接受教育的现状进行调查，并制定的相关政策。虽然已经过了12年，但人们对视听障碍人的认识仍然很落后。。White Lies is described as an “urgent exploration of race and privilege, inequality and identity.” Set in the wealthy neighbourhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, the series is described as following investigative journalist Edie Hansen (Dormer) as she gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to a turbulent past....。
